Having a skill set (or toolbox) of various types of movement is crucial for an actor today. Jarrell has created a curriculum that is based on finding what your toolbox of movement should be based specifically around Motion Capture.

Acting for Motion Capture

Motion Capture Acting or Performance Capture is an essential and growing need in the industry. Though it takes many elements from traditional film and stage acting; there are elements that are unique to motion capture. Whether it’s for video games, film, VR, etc. The ability to create a believable acting performance is vital for the overall product. Based on his own experience and years of theatre training; Jarrell will coach you on how to breakdown scripts, finding objectives, and building characters from scratch.

1 to 3 hours or full day (6 hr)

Creatures/Animals/Arm Extensions

Whether it’s Creatures, Zombies, Monsters, or Dragons. Learning to create these types of characters and make them believable is the goal. Jarrell breaks down the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of Performance when building non-human creatures. You will also learn how to walk, run, move, and act with custom Arm Extensions made by myself.

Weapons, Fighting, and Wrecks

Fighting and Weapons Combat go hand in hand in Motion Capture. And so do wrecks! Understanding how weapons, martial arts, and proper reactions can be used by various characters takes months to years of hard work and training. This level of coaching isn’t for the faint of heart. Get ready to shoot, jump, kick, punch, and fall.
